Welcome to HotelGuide.Networks' directory of hotels and hotel reviews for Georgian Bay, Ontario, Canada!

Among Ontario's so-called "best-kept secrets," Georgian Bay showcases both present-day vibrancy and reflections of the past, through provincial museums depicting a colorful history. Historic attractions include a reconstructed 17th century Jesuit mission, 19th century British military base and Canada's first reconstructed pre-European aboriginal village. Just east of Midland are twin spires of the historic Martyrs' Shrine, with other area attractions including Huronia Museum at Ouendate Village and Discovery Harbour, with guided tours depicting lifestyles from 1821 to 1856. Rugged beauty of the region from a water perspective comes with cruising aboard the Georgian Queen, departing from mid-May to mid-October from the town dock at Penetanguishene. Manitoulin Island -- the world's largest freshwater isle and a hotspot for anglers -- boasts live theatre, art exhibits, and auctions, while drawing cyclists and hikers, with scenic winding roads and trails ablaze in spring color. Birdwatching is big here, too. Annual events include July's Georgian Bay Poker Run, a week-long extravaganza of more than 100 events from Penetanguishene to Honey Harbour and towns in between. Winter events include Penetanguishene's Winterama and Tay Township's Frosty Frolics Winterfest. Georgian Bay accommodations include a plentiful inventory of inns, lodges, motels, and hotels.
